Chocolate Cake Recipe
Ingredients
2 Cups Sugar
2 ¾ Cups Flour
2 tsp Baking Powder
2 tsp Baking Soda
½ Cup Cadbury Cocoa (or similar)
¼ tsp Salt
2 Eggs
2/3 Cup Oil
1 tsp Vanilla Essence
2 Cups Boiling Water
Combine all dry ingredients, add eggs, oil, and vanilla and beat well. Lastly, add two cups of boiling water and stir.
Place mixture into a greased and papered large, deep – square or round baking tin. Bake at 180°c (350 Fahrenheit) for approximately 1 – 1 ¼ hours. Do not use the fan-forced option.
Test with skewer after 50 minutes, if the skewer is clean when removed the cake is ready.
Ice the cake with Chocolate Icing.
Handy Hints: This makes a very impressive plate at either a dinner party or birthday when topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with a crushed Cadbury chocolate Flake bar.
